Premenstrual
Syndrome (PMS) is a syndrome or group of symptoms
that occurs or worsens from a few days
to two weeks before the onset of
menstruation

PMS -A (Anxiety,
irritability or tension)
Reasons: These PMS symptoms are linked with oestrogen
dominance and poor liver detoxification.
Dietary suggestions: Alcohol and caffeine
place an extra load on the liver, an important organ
for the efficient clearance of chemicals and hormones,
such as oestrogen, from the body. Avoid caffeine, alcohol,
processed foods and consume adequate dietary fibre.
Important essential oils (found in
BioGest PMS Relief): Ylang ylang, Neroli, Clary sage, and Rose.
Other recommendations: Magnesium may also
benefit symptoms of mild
anxiety.

PMS -B
(Bloating, breast pain, weight gain and water
retention)
Reasons: Constipation and excessive caffeine
intake are both linked with an increase in
PMS breast
pain
Dietary suggestions: Regular bowel motions
to rid the body of wastes so adequate dietary fibre,
seed and fish oils, water and exercise. Avoid added
dietary salt as it may contribute to fluid retention.

3. PMS -C (Craving for sugars, starches or increased
appetite in general)
Reasons: Irregularities in blood sugar levels

chocolates and biscuits) can help to avoid fluctuations
in
blood sugar levels

4. PMS -D
(Moodiness or
depression)
Reasons: These PMS symptoms often involve a luck
of oestrogen
Dietary suggestions:
Maintain natural hormone

(sprouted seeds,
soy, linseed, almonds, alfalfa, mung beans,
most fresh and dried beans, parsley and liquorice)
and avoid potent xenoestrogens (foreign,
